After keeping club kids moving and grooving till the wee hours for 12 years—possibly a bit longer than you’ve been drinking (legally)—more than $1 million in renovations injected new life into the 4,200 square-foot, below-street-level space. The million-plus spent on updating the basement space evaporated into pricey-looking upholstered booths, fancy lighting, glass panels, crisper sound and a raised DJ nook. The bathrooms benefited most; a parlor-like alcove between the men's and women's is a relatively quiet retreat, perfect for cell usage. Apart from some nifty wood paneling, the bars remain the same.
The soul of the place--the banging,late-night music--hasn't suffered. This late-night spot continues to focus on top-notch house DJs; beats will pump through a state-of-the-art sound system. Bottle service scores you a seat for the night, plus Spybar partnered with Vosges to pair truffles and chocolates with champagne; spirits come with signature seasonal mixers designed by John Kinder, a former Metromix Best Bartender finalist recently named "Rising Star Bar Chef" by StarChefs.co.
